History
Sky
FlightCare Air-Medical services is designed to provide
an
immediate response medical team consisting
of a
Pilot,
Nurse
and
Medic to
treat and transfer critically ill and injured patients between
hospitals
and
from the scene of an accident or other trauma
related
incident to an appropriate medical
facility.
Sky FlightCare began
operations in 1983 as AeroMedix with a
Bell 206 and progressed to
an Agusta 109, In 1987 the name of the
program was changed to Sky
FlightCare and during this time
we have utilized the
BO-105
Super 5 and our current Aircraft
the MD 902 Explorer.
To date Sky FlightCare
has completed over 10,000 accident free
patient missions,
over 700 searches and handled over 20,000
requests.
Sky FlightCare is a member
of the Association of Air Medical Services.
Sky FlightCare is Licensed
by the PA Dept. of Health, the
New Jersey Dept. of Health
and the Delaware Dept. of Health.
Sky FlightCare
provides complete helicopter air-medical capabilities to
Pennsylvania, New
Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio,
Virginia, West
Virginia, Rhode Island, Connecticut. In addition,
Fixed Wing coordination can be provided worldwide.
Sky FlightCare provides Aero-Transportation for Gift
of Life in the aid of
Organ transplant and retrieval. Sky FlightCare
also
works directly with
the police agencies in PA in the assistance of lost
persons and
persons of flight from law
enforcement agencies.
It has been Sky FlightCare’s policy to help the
community where ever
possible. We have provided static
displays for local fire department’s
special events, standby services for large fires,
Lake and quarry
rescues and special events such
as the
NHRA Keystone Nationals
at Maple Grove and Rotor Fest at
Brandywine airport.
